Looking to get involved and help us keep Worcester clean, green, and beautiful all year long? We could always use the extra hands! Periodically, WGC will be looking for individual volunteers and neighborhood groups to participate in city cleanups. Register to join our team below, and we’ll keep you updated with our latest volunteer opportunities!
Get your own litter cleanup kit
Additionally, for a minimum donation of $30, Keep Massachusetts Beautiful will send you your own litter cleanup kit so you can get involved by cleaning up your own neighborhood! The kits include:
- A litter cleanup/grabber tool
- An official Mass Litter Cleanup Crew Safety T-Shirt
- An official Mass Litter Cleanup Crew reusable trash bag
- A pair of high-quality gloves
Opportunities for college students
The WGC is always looking for innovative ways to collaborate with our city’s extensive academic community!

– Apply to be a District Site Manager
Clean Streets Collective (CSC)
The Clean Streets Collective is all about empowering residents and community groups to take pride in their neighborhoods. Through this city-led initiative, the Department of Sustainability & Resilience and the Quality of Life Team are providing free green trash bags for litter cleanups. Worcester Green Corps is proud to be one of the local partners helping to get these bags into your hands. Once filled, bags can be placed out on your regular trash day for collection by the City’s sanitation team. It’s a simple way to make a meaningful impact—join us in keeping Worcester beautiful!
Donate
Looking to make a financial contribution on a smaller level? Worcester Green Corps also accepts individual donations (minimum requirement: $10). Donations help purchase materials for year-round cleanup and beautification projects. Thanks in advance for your contribution!

YouthWorker: Maintenance Assistant
Are you a high school student aged 14-18 with a passion for beautifying your community? We’re looking for dedicated individuals to help with projects like litter pickup, power-washing, planting flowers, and maintaining green spaces in Worcester. The Maintenence Assistant, employed through the Worcester Community Action Council’s YouthWorks Program, will gain valuable hands-on job training and participate in Career Pathway sessions that explore environmental education and essential job skills.

District Site Manager

Become a District Site Manager! Lead cleanup efforts, get outside, and make a difference! The District Site Manager supervises approximately five city YouthWorks students that are hired through the Worcester Community Action Council (WCAC) on beautification efforts, green jobs education and career pathways, as well as other green initiatives.
Check with your university if you are interested in using this position for internship credits.
Horticultural Specialist

Join the Worcester Green Corps team as our Horticultural Specialist! Help create thriving pollinator and rain gardens while promoting environmental sustainability. In this role, you’ll design garden layouts, select native plants, and manage ongoing site maintenance. You’ll also have the opportunity to teach youth workers hands-on horticultural skills, guiding them in the importance of supporting local ecosystems. Work outdoors, get creative, and make a real difference in the community by cultivating beautiful, sustainable green spaces!

Sponsoring the Catch Basin Mural Project
Green Corps collaborates with Worcester DPW and local artist, Sharinna Travieso, to craft vibrant sidewalk murals near city catch basins. These artworks not only educate about water pollution but also inspire action against illegal dumping into sewers linked to our precious rivers, ponds, and lakes. Positive community feedback from past murals fuels our ambition to continue this impactful initiative and expand murals across the ever-growing canvas that is Worcester. Chamber Members
Calling all Worcester Chamber member businesses and organizations! Does your Worcester storefront or street need beautifying or a little TLC? You can request a visit from one of our Worcester Green Corps Clean Teams! They can help with cleanup and beautification tasks such as litter pickup, window washing, graffiti removal, paint touchups, sidewalk maintenance, overgrowth removal, and more!
