Cleaning Up Your Neighborhood Just Got Easier
Do you use your own time and resources to keep our streets clean and contribute to the well-being of our community?
Worcester Green Corps is proud to support the City of Worcester’s new initiative—the Clean Streets Collective (CSC)—a program aimed at addressing street litter across Worcester. This initiative, developed by the Quality-of-Life Team and the Department of Sustainability & Resilience, is part of the City’s 5-year Strategic Plan.
Through this program, volunteers like you will receive green trash bags at no cost, provided by Worcester Green Corps. These bags are specifically for collecting street litter in your neighborhood—helping to keep your streets cleaner while reducing the burden on volunteers to buy official trash bags.
Here’s what you need to know as a participant:
- How to Use the Bags: The green bags are for street litter collection only—not for personal or business use. You can fill up to two bags per week, and once they are full, you can place them at the curb with your regular trash for collection by the DPW sanitation team.
- Participation Requirements: Before picking up your green bags, you’ll need to sign the Agreement and Release Form. This is to ensure safety and compliance with the program’s guidelines.
- At this time, we are only able to offer pick-up Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm.
- Program Goals: The program is voluntary, and there is no compensation for participating. The goal is to encourage community-driven litter cleanups. We’re committed to supporting your efforts and will be regularly checking in to monitor the program’s success and to make any needed improvements.
