In collaboration with various local artists, Worcester Green Corps seeks to expand the ever-growing canvas that is Worcester while also inspiring community members, through art, to take action on environmental concerns.

“Our Planet, Our Future”

“Our Planet, Our Future” was designed in collaboration between artists Sharinna Travieso and Jennessa Burks, who worked with our YouthWorkers to plan, sketch, and paint this tremendous mural on the side of the AT&T building. The students were given the prompt of what a sustainable city looks like to them and from there, the design of the mural was born.

A catch basin (storm drain) mural called "Drains to the Deep" by local artist, Monica Kwan.
Pictured is a large painting of an angler fish where the opening of its mouth is the entrance of the storm drain. Along the edge of the paining, it reads "Drains to Indian Lake."

Worcester Green Corps collaborates with Worcester’s DPW and local artist, Sharinna Travieso, to create eye-catching murals by catch basins to educate the community and encourage people to think twice before discarding their trash in catch basins, which ultimately harms the environment and the water we depend on. Through art and murals, we hope to highlight the direct connection between catch basins and local water bodies, emphasizing the importance of keeping them clean and free of harmful waste.
